A Gathering Culture Platform That Connects People Through Gatherings

Founded in 2010, ONOFFMIX was the first company to be incubate by Primer, Korea’s first-ever startup accelerator. It is a “gathering culture” platform that supports the hosting of various gatherings from small group gatherings to large-scale events such as exhibitions and seminars. Attendees who sign up for an event are provided with the relevant information, and the organizer can carry out a series of processes necessary for holding the gathering such as booking the venue, purchasing event items and so on with improved convenience through the platform. As of April 2017, more than 97,000 gatherings of various scales were held through ONOFFMIX, and it is expected to emerge as the largest MICE platform in Korea in the future.

Seeking Solutions for Fast Content Loading and Synchronization on the Site

On ONOFFMIX, countless new gatherings are registered on a daily basis. This makes fast loading speed essential for users to post and obtain the related information. Also, whenever the hosts made changes to the information on their gatherings, they had to be quickly synchronized in order to expose the edited content to the site visitors. On top of that, the company was looking for a CDN service that would strengthen site security by having visitors access the site using an encrypted HTTPS address with the application of SSL.

Proposing Web/Image Transfer (Caching Service) for Fast Synchronization and SSL Transmission

In order to address their concerns, we proposed CDN web/mobile transfer service. This was because storing the content from their origin server on an edge server would enable fast content loading and synchronization and constant network quality even if the traffic suddenly increased. Also, by applying SSL to the HTTPS address, security was strengthened through the encryption of the site content.

Convenient Operation and Fast Synchronization

Because there was no significant difference in the method of use or quality compared to the previous method of using a global CDN, ONOFFMIX was able to continue operating their services without much trouble even after the migration. Due to the super-fast speed of synchronization, it was confirmed that when the synchronization script was executed after content editing, the new file was made available when the URL in question was accessed. It also became much more convenient to access to HTTPS address to which SSL was applied, and this in turn eased the burden in the aspect of site operation.
